Qualifications

  • Qualified Mathematics teacher for Key Stage 3 and 4.

  • Experience as a form tutor supporting personal development.

Responsibilities

What skills and experience we're looking for Principal Accountabilities: Provide high quality teaching and learning experiences for pupils.

Fulfil the role of Personal Tutor to students.

Teaching and Learning Teach Mathematics at Key stage 3 and 4 Monitor data and identify emerging needs from student data Consistently deliver well-planned lessons that achieve high outcomes Liaise with students, staff and parents as required to ensure high standards As a form tutor, support the personal development of pupils Manage behaviour effectively of children within classrooms and around the school Understand and fulfil the requirements of school policies Support the departmental pupil premium and more able strategies Support in transition from Key stage 2 and post 16 options Main Activities and Responsibilities Main duties and responsibilities are indicated here.

Other duties at an appropriate level and nature may also be required and will be negotiated.

Additional Responsibilities T Always adhere to professional business standards of dress, courtesy, and efficiency in line with the ethos and specialism of the school.

Attend subject and staff meetings.

Attend and participate in open evenings, parents evening and other school events.

Uphold the school’s Behaviour for Learning Policy and Pupil Dress Code.

Be responsible for ensuring subject knowledge is developed and participate in staff training and development.

Work collaboratively with other schools as an employee of the Southport Learning Trust.

Support for the School Be aware of and comply with school policies and procedures relating to child protection, health, safety and security, confidentiality and data protection, reporting all concerns to an appropriate person.

The Mathematics faculty aims to make Maths exciting, relevant and accessible to all students.

The faculty currently consists of both full time and part time experienced specialist teaching staff.

Setting is currently in place for all year groups and at GCSE level all students follow the AQA GCSE Mathematics course.
