Harris Academy Beckenham invites applications for a Lead Practitioner of Mathematics. You will lead teaching and learning, ensuring high standards and strategic improvement across the Maths Faculty.

The role requires QTS and evidence of excellence in pedagogy, assessment, and collaboration with governors and across schools. The academy values development, flexible progression, and a supportive environment with a strong track record of performance.

Qualifications

• Demonstrate outstanding teaching practice and excellent behaviour management.
• Experience of lesson observations and giving robust feedback.
• Experience of improvement planning and implementing strategies to raise student achievement.
• Contribute to improving learning, teaching and curriculum quality.
• Proven track record of excellent KS3/KS4 results, ideally KS5 too.
• Experience of pupil tracking and feedback practices.
• Experience of working with governors and in multiple schools is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Lead the improvement of teaching and learning in the Mathematics Faculty and support overall student achievement.
• Collaborate as part of the Lead Practitioner Team to uphold standards of excellence.
• Provide accurate information on faculty performance to the Governing Body.
• Support Harris Federation initiatives and subject groups as appropriate.
• Contribute to policy formulation and ensure consistent implementation.
• Ensure high-quality teaching and learning across the Academy.
• Participate in duties during lunch, breaks and after school.
