Harris Academy Beckenham is seeking an experienced Lead Practitioner of Mathematics to drive high-quality teaching and learning across key stages. You will lead mathematics pedagogy, model outstanding practice, and support staff through observations, feedback, and professional development.

The role emphasizes improving curriculum and student outcomes, with strong experience in pupil tracking and collaboration with governors and multi-school networks.

Qualifications

• Holds QTS (or equivalent) and a relevant undergraduate degree, with evidence of ongoing professional development.
• Demonstrates outstanding teaching practice and excellent behaviour management.
• Experience of lesson observations and giving robust feedback.
• Experience of improvement planning and implementing strategies to raise student achievement with evidence of success.
• Contributes to improving the quality of learning, teaching and curriculum.
• Proven track record of excellent results at KS3 and KS4; ideally KS5.
• Experience of high quality pupil tracking and feedback practices.
• Ideally experienced in working with governors and in multiple schools.

Responsibilities

• Lead Practitioner of Mathematics with responsibility for improving teaching and standards.
• Conduct lesson observations and provide robust feedback to staff.
• Develop and implement improvement plans to raise student achievement.
• Collaborate on curriculum development and learning quality improvements.
• Monitor pupil progress through tracking and feedback processes.
• Engage with governors and contribute to school-wide educational strategies.

• Ideally, have experience of working with governors and of working in more than one school
