Job summary
We are seeking an inspirational manager with a passion for inpatient antenatal and postnatal care. You must possess strong leadership qualities and have the ability to implement new initiatives and the courage to drive forward future development.
You must demonstrate excellent communication skills and be able to challenge, when appropriate, to ensure competence and compassion is embraced by all. You will monitor and continually review performance, effectiveness and user satisfaction on the Maternity Ward.
The Maternity Ward is a 27 bedded ward providing antenatal and postnatal care. We have an established Transitional care service on the Maternity Ward caring for neonates from 34 weeks gestation
The Ward Manager will also support the continuous improvement project to establish a midwife led NIPE service with the ANNB Lead Midwife leading the change.
Main duties of the jobThe role will include but not be limited to
Daily operational running of the Maternity Ward
Line management of all midwifery and support staff within the team.
Service and quality improvement - development, implementation and maintenance of standards
management of budget inclusive of staffing, equipment, premises and supplies
multi disciplinary working
Clinical leadership and the maintenance of clinical credibility.
Provide support to colleagues and the senior management team
