Job summary
Cunliffe Ward at Wrexham Maelor Hospital offers a progressive and supportive environment with a dynamic team. We pride ourselves on being a friendly ward with a specialist focus on renal medicine, providing Haemodialysis (HD) and Peritoneal Dialysis (PD) for both acute and chronic patients. The ward has five beds dedicated to haemodialysis, with four in the Renal High Dependency bay. Patients on this ward include those with Acute Kidney Injury (AKI), advanced Chronic Kidney Disease (CKD), dialysis patients, and kidney transplant recipients, as well as individuals with general medical conditions. The ward presents diverse holistic and social needs, challenging our nurses to develop high-standard skills. Individualised care is prioritized, with the Fundamentals of Care tool frequently used in assessments.
As the Ward Manager, you will oversee ward management, foster a positive patient and staff experience, and lead the delivery of excellent nursing care. This role involves close collaboration with the Multi-Disciplinary Team, Consultants, Nursing Heads, Matrons, and other Ward Managers.
You will also focus on clinical professional development, enhancing leadership and managerial skills, supporting a vibrant team through strong clinical presence, and striving to meet local and national objectives.
