Job summary

Cambridge University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a Ward Clerk for the Rosie Hospital Delivery Unit in Cambridge. The role supports the 24/7 Delivery Unit, handling patient admissions, information systems, and front-line communications with patients, visitors and staff.

You will work as part of a supportive team, delivering high-quality administrative support and contributing to a welcoming, efficient hospital environment during a time that is important for women and families.

Qualifications

• Numerate and literate
• GCSE level or equivalent
• GCSE A-C or equivalent

Responsibilities

• Be the first point of contact for staff, patients and visitors face‑to‑face or by telephone.
• Input information onto the EPIC system.
• Administer admission of all women and babies to the ward.
• Create medical records for new patients.
• Return notes and documents to Medical Records after use.
• Book appointments for Clinics and Ultrasound.
• Greet visitors and respond to information requests.
• Handle straightforward telephone calls and emails.
• Complete forms and correspondence using templates.
• Liaise with colleagues to resolve issues.
• Cover other positions during absences.
