Job summary

Sandwell and West Birmingham NHS Trust is recruiting for an Administrative Assistant in the Maternity Triage Unit at Midland Metropolitan University Hospital, Smethwick. The role is Band 2, contract permanent, full-time or part-time with flexible working, 37.5 hours per week across 13 shifts, including long days and nights.

You will provide essential admin support to doctors, midwives and the wider team, handle enquiries with sensitivity, and contribute to a smoothly run service on a 7-day rota.

Qualifications

• Relevant clerical experience.
• Previous NHS experience.
• NVQ Customer care or equivalent qualification.

Responsibilities

• Provide administrative support to doctors, midwives and the wider team.
• Handle enquiries and requests from patients and staff in person and by telephone.
• Cover a 7-day rota including long days and night shifts and work flexibly within the admin team.
