Maternity Support Workers are vital to providing quality care and information, working alongside midwives and the wider team to achieve excellence in maternity care.
We seek enthusiastic, hardworking, flexible individuals to assist us in providing the best care. The roles include duties such as breastfeeding support, maternal observations, stocking wards, and some cleaning. If you have the qualities for this role and want to make a difference, consider joining us.
Part-time/full-time applications are welcome, with a minimum of 22.5 hours. We do not currently offer term-time-only contracts.
Please note: The role involves 50% unsocial hours, including night shifts and weekends, generally 12.5-hour shifts from 07:30-20:00 or 19:30-20:00. Flexible working options are available. This role is not eligible for overseas sponsorship.
All new starters, unless transferring internally, will start as Band 2. After completing mandatory training, the Care Certificate, and local competencies, staff will be promoted to Band 3.
You will support and work closely with registered midwives to deliver high-quality, safe, and caring maternity services, maintaining women's dignity, privacy, and confidentiality.

Support and collaborate with midwives and sonographers to ensure high standards of care. Contribute to the efficient operation of the ward, uphold patient dignity and confidentiality, and develop your clinical competencies and Care Certificate. All new staff will be expected to achieve the Care Certificate within 12 weeks unless previously completed. The Trust provides an extended induction and training program.
