About Us
OxfordshireSupported Internships, delivered in partnership with local colleges and other service providers, offer young adults the opportunity to achieve their employment goals through a combination of college learning and in-work placements.
In this role, you will collaborate closely with colleagues, stakeholders, and employers to ensure that young people receive comprehensivesupport to develop within an employment setting and, where appropriate, achieve a paid employment outcome at the end of their internship.
As an Employment Support Worker, you willactively seek work placement opportunities with local employers and provide hands-on coaching to young people during their placements.
You will support several young people in work placements across Oxfordshire, under the guidance and support of an Employment Advisor.Additionally, you will offer advice to employers on reasonable adjustments, when necessary, always working to the strengths of the individuals yousupport to help them develop their skills.
Your responsibilities will also include completing reviews and administrative tasks to ensure all requirements are met.
While your primary focus will be on the Supported Internship, you may also be involved in other delivery programs offered by Oxfordshire Employment, providing a diverse and dynamic delivery, following the five stage model ofSupported Employment.
Please note that travel around the county will be required for this role.

To be successful in this role, you should demonstrate knowledge, understanding, or experience with the Supported Employment model, as well as experience or knowledge ofsupporting people with disabilities within a work setting.
Effective communication skills are essential, asyou will need to interact with colleagues, college teams, employers, and the individuals we support on our programs.Additionally, strong organisational skills are necessary to work efficiently while supporting people in various locations throughout the county.
You will need the ability to provide advice and solutions for the learning and development of young people and adults within a work environment, while always maintaining a professional approach.The role requires you to work under pressure, prioritise tasks, and use your initiative to manage workloads effectively.
A dynamic approach and a "can-do" attitude towards tasks and different learning styles are important.Lastly, you should exhibit understanding, patience, and professionalism when communicating with individuals who have a vested interest in the young person's future.
