Job summary

South Warwickshire University NHS Foundation Trust is recruiting an in-house Tobacco Dependency Advisor for Maternity Services based at Warwick Hospital. The role supports smoking cessation for pregnant people as part of the NHS Long Term Plan, operating within the Maternity Tobacco Dependency team.

The post covers maternity leave and involves delivering one-to-one stop smoking support, CO monitoring and NRT within hospital and community settings, with a focus on reducing health inequalities.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 3 or equivalent training/experience
• Experience with smoke-free pathways
• Experience with maternity records systems (Badgernet, Lorenzo)

Responsibilities

• Deliver smoking cessation standard treatment programme for pregnant women and families.
• Provide 1:1 stop smoking support during pregnancy and post-natal period with CO monitoring and NRT.
• Work within hospital and community settings to deliver the NCSCT standard treatment programme.
• Process referrals in a timely manner.
• Provide CO training to staff in maternity services.
• Signpost to healthy lifestyle advice and support services.
• Maintain accurate up-to-date records.
