Job summary

Gamit Ltd, an established aviation consultancy near Stansted Airport, seeks a Materials Executive to source, purchase and supply aircraft spare parts for maintenance needs. You will manage orders end-to-end, deal with suppliers and customers worldwide, and support urgent AOG requirements with speed and accuracy.

The role requires aviation materials experience, strong negotiation skills, and the ability to handle multiple orders while maintaining compliance with export controls and ISO standards.

Qualifications

• Three years’ experience in a materials, purchasing, sales or supply-chain role.
• Experience in aviation or aerospace preferred.
• Experience with aircraft parts purchasing and sales (loans, exchanges, repair orders).
• Understanding of aircraft spare-parts processes and aviation terminology.
• Experience preparing cost estimates and negotiating with suppliers.
• Strong organisational skills and ability to manage several open orders.
• Calm under urgent AOG requirements with clear communication.
• GCSE English and Maths at grade C/4 or above, or equivalent qualifications.
• Full driving licence and valid passport.

Responsibilities

• Act as a key contact for purchase and sale of aircraft spare parts.
• Source and procure aircraft parts per customer requirements and procedures.
• Process purchase, sales, exchange and repair orders accurately.
• Expedite open purchase and repair orders for on-time delivery.
• Respond to urgent AOG requirements quickly and effectively.
• Obtain supplier quotations, prepare cost estimates and negotiate terms.
• Work with approved suppliers and evaluate new suppliers against requirements.
• Build and maintain relationships with customers, suppliers and stakeholders.
• Coordinate with shipping agents for timely movement of parts.
• Liaise with Accounts on invoicing queries and follow-up outstanding matters.
• Follow export-control requirements and company policies.
• Provide cover for Materials & Logistics team as needed.
• Act as deputy for Materials Manager when required.
• Work within ISO 9001 and ISO/IEC 27001 management systems.
• Undertake other reasonable duties as requested.
