Job summary

CAF Rail UK in Stockport is seeking a detail-oriented Materials Controller (Central Stores) to manage stores operations, material movement and stock control. You will coordinate with projects and customers to ensure accurate transactions, logs and inspections while maintaining tidy records and reliable data.

The role requires organisation, good numeracy, and experience with ERP systems and stock control. A valid driving licence is preferred as some site travel may be required.

Qualifications

• Experience in a similar materials controller/stores role.
• Strong numeracy and literacy.
• Valid driver's license.
• Proficiency with ERP and stock control systems.

Responsibilities

• Run a well-organised stores department, handling materials movement and storage.
• Coordinate logistics with key stakeholders and project teams.
• Maintain material logs and monitor stock levels.
• Ensure accuracy of system information to deliver reliable data.
