Job summary

The Duchy Hospital in Harrogate, part of Circle Health Group, invites applications for a Materials Assistant in the Materials department on a full-time basis (37.5 hours per week).

You will manage stock, process orders, maintain records, and support internal customers with a high-quality materials service. Proficiency in MS Word/Excel and good communication are essential.

Qualifications

• GCSE/O level Mathematics and English or equivalent.
• Proficiency with PC software including MS Word and Excel.
• Able to work on own initiative with minimal supervision.

Responsibilities

• Be an active member of the Materials Department and assist day-to-day operations.
• Provide a high-quality materials service to internal customers.
• Ensure stock availability by processing orders and replenishing approved stock.
• Maintain departmental paperwork and files with accuracy.
• Complete mandatory training as required.
• Demonstrate proficient PC skills including Word/Excel.
• Show initiative and work independently when needed.
• Deliver strong customer service and clear communication.

Job description

We have an opportunity for a Materials Assistant to join their team of staff in the Materials department. This is a full time role for 37.5 hours a week. The role holder will be required to cover a flexible shift pattern. Duties of this role include:

• You are an active member of the Materials Department, involved in the day to day running of the department.
• Provide an effective and high-quality materials management service to all internal customers.
• Ensure stock availability through the correct order processing and replenishing of pre-approved stock and products for central stores or on behalf of hospital departments.
• Maintain all departmental paperwork and files in good order with reference to accuracy, appropriateness and availability.
• You comply with all relevant mandatory training.
  A minimum of GSCE/O level Mathematics and English or equivalent.
• Proficiency in the use of a PC, including the use of software and systems such as Microsoft Word and Microsoft Excel.
• Able to work on own initiative without close supervision.
• Customer service skills.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
