Job summary

The Duchy Hospital in Harrogate, part of Circle Health Group, is seeking a Materials Assistant to join the Materials Department. This is a full-time, permanent role with 37.5 hours per week.

You will manage stock, process orders, and support hospital departments with efficient materials handling. Salary is £24,947 per year with benefits including pension, healthcare and staff discounts.

Qualifications

• GCSE/O level Mathematics and English or equivalent.
• Proficiency in using a PC and software such as Word and Excel.
• Ability to work on own initiative without close supervision.
• Customer service and strong communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Be an active member of the Materials Department and contribute to day-to-day operations.

The Duchy Hospital in Harrogate is part of Circle Health Group, Britain's leading provider of independent healthcare with a nationwide network of hospitals & clinics, performing more complex surgery than any other private healthcare provider in the country.

We have an opportunity for a Materials Assistant to join their team of staff in the Materials department.

This is a full time role for 37.5 hours a week. The role holder will be required to cover a flexible shift pattern.

Duties of this role include:

• You are an active member of the Materials Department, involved in the day to day running of the department.
• Provide an effective and high-quality materials management service to all internal customers.
• Ensure stock availability through the correct order processing and replenishing of pre-approved stock and products for central stores or on behalf of hospital departments.
• Maintain all departmental paperwork and files in good order with reference to accuracy, appropriateness and availability.
• You comply with all relevant mandatory training.

Applicants should meet the following criteria:

• A minimum of GSCE/O level Mathematics and English or equivalent.
• Proficiency in the use of a PC, including the use of software and systems such as Microsoft Word and Microsoft Excel.
• Able to work on own initiative without close supervision.
• Customer service skills.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
