Job summary

Forest Green Rovers Football Club is seeking a dedicated Commis Chef to join the Catering Team and support delivery of FGR Food across the stadium and fan zones. The role suits those developing culinary skills in a fast-paced environment, whether in catering, restaurants or other sectors.

You will work alongside our Head Chef, handle basic prep, maintain kitchen cleanliness and get hands-on experience on matchdays. A full driving license is required and DBS checks apply.

Qualifications

• Experience in a catering/restaurant environment or a catering qualification.
• A full driving license is required.
• Basic knowledge of food safety practices and hygiene standards would be ideal.
• Available to work evenings, weekends and public holidays, to cover Matchday fixtures and events.
• Have good communication skills and be able to work within the small FGR Team.
• Work off your own initiative, be creative and think outside the box.
• Passion for sustainability, equality, diversity and inclusion.
• Culinary qualification (NVQ Level 1 or 2) is a plus but not essential.

Responsibilities

• Working with our Head Chef and the team to provide support and help deliver FGR Food across our platforms including the stadium, concourse, Fan Zone and Eco Canteen.
• Maintain cleanliness and organisation of all areas of the kitchen.
• Assisting with meal preparation, including chopping vegetables, preparing ingredients and assembling dishes.
• Offering general support to the Catering Team during busy periods.
• Work on Matchdays within the Catering Team, primarily based in the hospitality kitchen but scope to expand and learn other areas.
