Job summary

Forest Green Rovers are seeking a dedicated Commis Chef to join our Catering Team. You will support the Head Chef to deliver FGR Food across stadium and hospitality venues, help with meal prep, maintain kitchen cleanliness, and assist during busy matchdays and events.

The role requires a full driving license, flexibility to work evenings, weekends and bank holidays, and a passion for sustainability and teamwork in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in a catering/restaurant environment or a catering qualification.
• A full driving license is required.
• Basic knowledge of food safety practices and hygiene standards would be ideal.
• Available to work evenings, weekends and public holidays, to cover Matchday fixtures and events.
• Have good communication skills and be able to work within the small FGR Team.
• Work off your own initiative, be creative and think outside the box.
• Passion for supporting a culture that demonstrates the club’s commitment to sustainability, equality, diversity, and inclusion.
• Culinary qualification (NVQ Level 1 or 2) is a plus but not essential.

Responsibilities

• Working with our Head Chef and the team to provide support and help deliver FGR Food across our platforms including the stadium, concourse, Fan Zone and Eco Canteen.
• Maintain cleanliness and organisation of all areas of the kitchen.
• Assisting with meal preparation, including chopping vegetables, preparing ingredients and assembling dishes.
• Offering general support to the Catering Team during busy periods.
• Work on Matchdays within the Catering Team, primarily based in the hospitality kitchen but scope to expand and learn other areas.
