Forest Green Rovers FC is seeking a dedicated Catering Assistant to join the Catering Team and learn from our Head Chef, gaining industry experience in a fast-paced environment. The role supports day-to-day kitchen operations, helps deliver FGR Food across venues including the stadium, concourse, Fan Zone and Eco Canteen, and includes evenings, weekends and matchdays.

You will develop catering skills, work with the team on matchdays in hospitality kitchen, and have opportunities to progress

Qualifications

• Previous catering/restaurant experience preferred but not essential.
• Basic knowledge of food safety and hygiene standards.
• Available to work evenings, weekends and public holidays (matchdays).
• Good communication skills and ability to work in a small team.
• Able to think creatively and take initiative in a busy environment.

We are looking for a dedicated and enthusiastic Catering Assistant to join the Forest Green Rovers Catering Team and learn from our experienced Head Chef, gaining industry experience and developing valuable skills.

This position is perfect for individuals looking to develop their culinary skills in a fast-paced setting, whether in catering, restaurants or other sectors. The successful candidate will be provided with support and training from our Catering Team; and have opportunities to develop their catering career within our team.

Shift pattern is generally 9.00am - 5.00pm Mon-Fri, but expected to work all matchdays (Saturdays) and occasional events in the evenings.

Core responsibilities:

• Entry level kitchen role, working with our Head Chef to provide support and help deliver FGR Food across our platforms including the stadium, concourse, Fan Zone and Eco Canteen
• Maintain cleanliness and organisation in the kitchen area, including washing dishes, cleaning surfaces and disposing of waste properly.
• Assisting the Food Team with meal preparation, including chopping vegetables, preparing ingredients and assembling dishes.
• Offering general support to the Catering Team during busy periods
• Work on Matchdays within the Catering Team, primarily based in the hospitality kitchen, but scope to expand and learn other areas

As a valued member of our team, you will be focused on achieving great results and creating the best experience for our visitors and supporters.

Essential skills:

• Previous experience in a catering/restaurant environment is preferred but not essential
• Basic knowledge of food safety practices and hygiene standards would be ideal
• Available to work evenings, weekends and public holidays, to cover Matchday fixtures and events.
• Have good communication skills and be able to work within the small FGR Team
• Work off your own initiative, be creative and think outside the box
• Passion for supporting a culture that demonstrates the club’s commitment to sustainability, equality, diversity, and inclusion.

Other considerations...

• This role is subject to a background check and DBS check, prior to employment commencing.
• A full driving clean driving license is required.
• A high degree of flexibility is needed to work around the busy football calendar
