Job description

  • A compelling opportunity to drive growth, reputation and market position
  • Lead, influence and drive growth at board level
About Our Client

Our client is a highly regarded professional services organisation with an established market presence and a clear ambition to accelerate growth. Backed by a committed leadership team, the business is investing in the capabilities, infrastructure and talent required to achieve its long-term objectives.

Job Description

Reporting to the Managing Partner, this is an opportunity to shape the future direction of marketing within an ambitious and growing professional services business.

Marketing has strong leadership support and a seat at the table, but there remains significant opportunity to develop the function's commercial impact. The successful candidate will lead the next stage of its evolution, bringing greater focus to growth, client development, digital performance and the effective use of data and insight.

This is not a role for someone looking to inherit a large, fully developed marketing operation. The foundations are in place, but there is still much to build. Success will come from creating structure, improving accountability, strengthening the connection between marketing and business development, and demonstrating how marketing contributes to commercial performance.

The role combines strategic leadership with practical execution. You'll be expected to influence senior stakeholders, shape business priorities and lead change, while remaining close enough to the detail to drive progress and maintain momentum. For the right individual, it offers the opportunity to leave a genuine mark on the organisation and establish marketing as a recognised driver of growth.

The Successful Applicant

This role will suit a commercially minded marketing leader who sees marketing as a driver of business performance, not simply a support function. You will already be operating at Marketing Director level, or in an equivalent titled senior leadership role in marketing.

You will bring experience of building, developing or transforming a marketing function ideally within a professional, regulated or relationship‑led environment, together with the credibility to influence senior stakeholders and challenge established thinking. Equally comfortable discussing strategy in the boardroom and rolling up your sleeves to drive delivery, you will combine strong commercial instincts with a pragmatic, outcomes‑focused approach.

The successful candidate will be energised by the opportunity to create something rather than inherit it. You will enjoy bringing structure where it is needed, using data and insight to improve decision‑making, and building the processes, relationships and accountability that enable marketing to make a measurable contribution to growth.

As a leader, you will be collaborative, engaging and capable of bringing people with you through change. You will have a track record of building high‑performing teams, developing capability and creating an environment where individuals can thrive and perform at their best. You will be equally adept at earning the trust of senior stakeholders as you are supporting and empowering your team.

Most importantly, you will have the resilience to drive change, the presence to gain credibility across a senior stakeholder group, and the ambition to leave a lasting mark on a business with significant growth aspirations.

What’s on Offer

Competitive salary dependent on the level of experience plus benefits. This will be a hybrid role required at least two days in the office per week.
