Job summary

GE Vernova, Inc. located at the Marine Power Test Facility in Whetstone, Leicester, is seeking an electrical systems engineer to install, commission and test electro-mechanical equipment up to 20 MW.

You will run tests, collect data, and ensure safety and reliability in a land-based naval power testing environment. You will design test panels, configure the plant for tests, supervise subcontractors, and perform preventative maintenance while upholding health and safety standards and compliance

Qualifications

• OND/HND or equivalent in electrical engineering or related subject.
• Experience with LV switchboards, transformers, VSDs, diesel generators, automation systems.
• Experience in an industrial or marine setting relevant to the work.
• Training in environment, health and safety (EHS), First Aid and business compliance.
• Current UK Security Clearance (SC) and UK Eyes Only clearance, or ability to obtain both.

Responsibilities

• Install, commission, test, fault-find and repair electro-mechanical systems from LV to HV.
• Design and build small test panels and adjust wiring for tests.
• Configure the plant and ensure readiness for each test per SOP.
• Operate in the plant control room and collect test data.
• Carry out routine preventative maintenance per manufacturer guidelines.
• Track and implement changes to systems, equipment and documents.
• Supervise subcontractors and suppliers on site.
• Suggest process improvements and maintain high health and safety standards including risk assessments.
