Job summary

GE Vernova, Inc. in the UK is seeking an electro-mechanical engineer to join the Marine Power Test Facility team in Whetstone (Leicester).

You will install, configure and run tests of full-scale power systems up to 20 MW for naval, maritime and defence applications, and help ensure safety and performance before sea trials. The role involves hands-on setup, fault-finding, preventive maintenance, supervising subcontractors, and contributing to safety with risk assessments.

Qualifications

• An OND or HND (or equivalent) in electrical engineering or related subject.
• Experience with LV switchboards, transformers, VSDs, diesel generators, automation systems and industrial plant.
• Experience in an industrial or marine setting relevant to this work.
• EHS, First Aid and business compliance training.
• Current UK Security Clearance (SC) and Eyes Only, or ability to obtain both.

Responsibilities

• Install, commission, test, fault-find and repair electro-mechanical systems from LV to HV.
• Design and build small test panels and modify wiring for tests.
• Configure plant and prepare for each test following SOPs.
• Run tests from the plant control room and collect data.
• Carry out routine preventative maintenance per manufacturer guidelines.
• Track changes to systems, equipment and documents and implement them.
• Supervise subcontractors and suppliers on site.
• Suggest improvements and roll out safety and process enhancements with leadership approval.
