Job summary

Matchtech Group is seeking a CAD Systems Lead on the Isle of Wight to oversee and develop the digital engineering environment for aluminium vessel design and construction.

You will manage 3D CAD workflows, object libraries, and CAD standards, while guiding design, engineering and production teams. The role requires expertise in SOLIDWORKS, CADMATIC, and AutoCAD within a marine engineering context.

Qualifications

• Must have hands-on experience in administering CAD environments and improving data systems.
• Strong knowledge of CAD standards, libraries, templates and configurations.
• Experience supporting multiple CAD platforms and data management processes.
• Excellent communication skills across technical stakeholders and teams.

Responsibilities

• Lead the administration, development and continuous improvement of CAD and engineering data systems.
• Own and maintain SOLIDWORKS and CADMATIC environments, including software configuration and support.
• Develop and manage CAD standards, templates, component libraries, assemblies and workflows.
• Provide technical guidance and troubleshooting support to Design, Engineering and Production teams.
• Ensure accuracy and quality of 2D drawings, 3D models, assemblies and parts lists.
• Improve design processes, engineering efficiency and data management practices.
• Support information exchange between CAD platforms, including AutoCAD.
• Act as internal subject matter expert for CAD systems and engineering software.
