Solid Talent in the UK is seeking a Manufacturing Design Engineer to join a hybrid role in Hampshire. You will bridge naval architecture concepts to practical workshop fabrication, using SolidWorks to produce fabricator-ready drawings and maintain a digital twin of the vessel.

Ideal candidates have hands-on aluminium fabrication experience, familiarity with marine structures, and a strong engineering education.

Qualificações

• Proven experience with SolidWorks for mechanical design work.
• Hands-on experience with aluminium fabrication and structural weldments.
• Knowledge of BOMs, fabrication processes and shop floor needs.
• Formal mechanical engineering qualification at HNC/HND or higher.

Responsabilidades

• Deconstruct 3D surface models and 2D drawings into fabricator-ready aluminium components.
• Produce clear 2D fabrication assembly drawings for manual welding teams.
• Maintain a 3D Digital Twin of the vessel with precise vendor dimensions to avoid interferences.
• Model and detail routing for onboard systems (fuel lines, hydraulics, steering, propulsion).
• Perform CAD interferition checks before releasing drawings to shop floor.
• Extract and manage Bills of Materials and outsourced component orders.
• Apply DfMA principles to standardise fold lines, flanges, and tab-and-slot features.
• Ensure compliance with MCA regulations and Lloyd's Register rules.
