Job summary

Owen Daniels is seeking a Manufacturing Team Leader for a global precision component manufacturer in the Aerospace sector. The role oversees sheetmetals operations, supports EHS/QC/Cost/Delivery objectives, and leads the team to meet OTIF targets.

The late shift runs Mon 15:00-01:00, Tue-Thu 15:00-12:30, with a 4 Day Working Week and a strong focus on problem solving, tool maintenance, and continuous improvement. Experience in regulated aerospace and drawing interpretation is essential.

Qualifications

• Previous experience of working in a highly regulated industry, preferably Aerospace.
• Proven experience and ability to manage a team.
• Experience reading and interpreting engineering drawings.

Responsibilities

• Support by sharing agreed objectives on EHS, Quality, Cost and Delivery and participating in the Operational Control model.
• Participate in the Daily Operations meeting, taking ownership of problems assigned to the TL function for resolution.
• Understand the process constraints and operating rules of the value stream covered in the TL role and participate in problem-solving exercises to improve flow where relevant.
• Manage throughput of work in priority order to deliver our OTIF target.
• Ensure planned times are accurate and that team members are completing work within time allocated.
• Maintain an efficient system to control the maintenance and storage / replenishment of tooling.
• Carry out sheet metalwork operations to produce conforming parts.
• Provide input including method and cycle times for new quotations when required.
• Lead / support the development of efficient methods of manufacture and tooling for NPDI and existing work.
• Lead the weekly Gemba meeting in line with standard format ensuring communication of relevant SQCDP metrics.
• Apply problem-solving methodologies to define and solve problems at root cause as a method of improving operational performance, in particular on process capability and quality problems.

Our client is a global, leading precision component manufacturer primarily operating in the Aerospace sector. They manufacture precision engineered parts for aerospace customers (mainly precision fabrication and machining) and are looking for a Manufacturing Team Leader to join their growing team. You will be responsible for supporting the Manufacturing Manager through day-to-day supervision of Sheetmetal workers.

Essential Experience/Skills/Qualifications
