Job summary

Owen Daniels is assisting a global precision component manufacturer in Alcester to recruit an Engineering Team Leader. The role focuses on leading manufacturing engineering activities within an aerospace-focused operation and delivering on EHS, quality, cost and delivery objectives.

You will support floor-based teams, participate in daily operations meetings, and drive continuous improvement of flow and process constraints.

Qualifications

• Experience using Microsoft Excel and Project planning tools.
• Experience working to manufacturing standards.
• 2-5 years’ experience in a similar role.

Responsibilities

• Support the internal customer by sharing objectives on EHS, Quality, Cost and Delivery and participating in the Operational Control model.
• Participate in the Manufacturing Manager and/or Team Leader walk the floor routine.
• Participate in the Daily Operations meeting and relevant Standard Diary meetings, taking ownership of problems.
• Contribute to the delivery of the EHS Model, by participating in Job Safety Observations and providing technical/process solutions to EHS problems where appropriate.
• Understand the process constraints and operating rules of the value stream and participate in problem-solving to improve flow.
• Support Engineering and Product Quality Manager through day-to-day supervision of the Manufacturing Engineers and SMEs.

Job Description

• Support the “internal customer” by sharing agreed objectives on EHS, Quality, Cost and Delivery and participating in the Operational Control model.
• Participate in the Manufacturing Manager and/or Team Leader walk the floor routine.
• Participate in the Daily Operations meeting and relevant Standard Diary meetings, taking ownership of problems.
• Contribute to the delivery of the EHS Model, by participating in Job Safety Observations and providing technical/process solutions to EHS problems where appropriate. Demonstrating clear ownership JSOs, Risk Assessments, and any further EHS requirements.
• Understand the process constraints and operating rules of the value stream covered in the Engineering/Manufacturing Engineering role and participate in problem-solving exercises to improve flow where relevant.
• Support Engineering and Product Quality Manager through day-to-day supervision of the Manufacturing Engineers and Subject Matter Experts.

Essential Experience/Skills/Qualifications

• Job-specific IT systems: (Microsoft Excel & Projects)
• Previous experience of working to manufacturing standards.
• Preferably 2-5 years’ experience in a similar role.
