Job Overview
This role offers the opportunity to contribute to high-profile defence projects valued in the hundreds of millions. You will be part of an industry-leading team working with Marshall, other major defence stakeholders, and Prime contractors.
Purpose of the Position
The Manufacturing Supervisor reports directly to the Senior Production Manager and manages a section within the manufacturing environment. Responsibilities include overseeing safety, quality, cost, delivery, and people (SQCDP) within their area, managing team leaders, and supporting achievement of key milestones and KPIs. The role involves providing leadership, coordinating workloads, maintaining quality standards, and fostering a safe working culture.
Accountabilities
- Ensure adherence to project schedules and milestones.
- Manage project budgets.
- Control technical documentation within manufacturing.
- Lead production meetings with internal stakeholders.
- Collaborate with planning to meet delivery targets.
- Conduct interviews as needed.
- Promote safety through coaching, reporting incidents, root cause analysis, and preventative actions.
- Maintain 5S practices and adhere to policies and procedures.
- Build trust-based relationships with the team, delegate tasks clearly, and support continuous improvement initiatives.
Key Tasks
- Manage attendance, holidays, and overtime, ensuring KPIs are met.
- Manage team leaders and oversee manufacturing documentation.
- Coordinate with Design for technical issue resolution and design changes.
- Support planning with BOM configuration and work instructions.
- Lead SQCDP meetings and escalate issues appropriately.
- Respond to inspection reports and manage product quality issues.
- Conduct appraisals and support change management processes.
- Manage consumable stock and identify training needs.

- Expertise in manufacturing processes such as laser cutting, break pressing, CNC saws.
- Ability to read engineering drawings and understand design data.

Qualifications & Experience
- City and Guilds Apprenticeship or equivalent in Manufacturing.
- IOSH Managing Safely certification (preferred, training available).
- Manufacturing experience and team leadership experience.

- This is a full-time on-site role with occasional travel.
