This role is a 12-month contract for a Manufacturing Technician Mechanical based in Barnoldswick, on behalf of Rolls-Royce, a company delivering cutting-edge technologies for clean, safe, and competitive power solutions.

Manufacturing Technician Mechanical

Role responsibilities

• Perform proactive and reactive maintenance across a wide range of machinery, tools, and production equipment.
• Support manufacturing activities including mechanical and electrical work on civil aerospace fan blade production.
• Collaborate with the Maintenance Team to deliver strategic goals and share technical expertise.
• Carry out diagnostics, fault finding, and repairs on assets including CNC machines, test rigs, pumps, pneumatics, and hydraulics.
• Complete installations and electrical maintenance on production and experimental facilities.
• Interpret engineering drawings and schematics to guide maintenance efforts.
• Uphold high standards of health and safety, contributing to a culture of continuous improvement.

Key skills and experience

• Time-served apprenticeship and Level 3 qualification (or equivalent qualifications).
• Hands-on maintenance experience in aerospace, automotive or similar sectors.
• Multi-skilled in electrical and mechanical disciplines with experience in PLCs, inverters, control panels, wiring.
• Solid understanding of CNC controls and precision tooling systems.
• Effective communication skills.
• It is essential for this role that all candidates have completed a Level 3 qualification and have an apprenticeship completion document (or equivalent qualifications).
