Job summary

Alexander Mann Solutions - Contingency is seeking Manufacturing Technicians for a 12-month contract based in Solihull. You will join the Hydromechanical Valves production team, producing high-precision components for Civil and Defence Aerospace, while ensuring safety and on-time delivery.

You will read engineering drawings, operate advanced machining equipment, conduct quality inspections, and collaborate with Engineering and Maintenance to resolve issues and improve processes.

Qualifications

• NVQ/SVQ Level 3 or equivalent in engineering with completed apprenticeship.
• Experience in manufacturing operations and production environments.
• Able to follow technical instructions and adhere to fixed processes and quality standards.
• Proficient in interpreting engineering drawings.
• Knowledge of various inspection techniques.

Responsibilities

• Operate advanced machining equipment to produce high-quality components safely and efficiently.
• Read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications to manufacture parts to precise tolerances.
• Carry out quality inspections using precision measuring equipment and visual standards.
• Support continuous improvement activities to enhance productivity, quality, and performance.
• Troubleshoot and resolve production issues in collaboration with Engineering and Maintenance teams.
• Perform routine maintenance to ensure equipment reliability and uptime.
• Accurately record production and quality data while maintaining high safety standards.
• Work closely with cross-functional teams to achieve production targets and solve problems.

Job description - the role

As a Manufacturing Technician you will work as part of the Hydromechanical Valves production team and play a critical role in the production of high-precision components for the Civil and Defence Aerospace businesses, ensuring components are of the highest standard, ensuring safety, customer quality and on time delivery following established working processes and quality procedures.

As a Manufacturing Technician you will:

• Operate advanced machining equipment to produce high-quality components safely and efficiently.

• Carry out quality inspections using precision measuring equipment and visual standards.

What We're Looking for in a Manufacturing Technician:

• NVQ/SVQ Level 3 or equivalent in a relevant engineering discipline including completing a time-served recognised apprenticeship
• Experience in manufacturing operations & production environment.
• Able to work to technical instructions and adhere to fixed process and quality standards.
• Confident in interpreting engineering drawings.
• Knowledge & experience of a wide range of inspection techniques.
