Responsibilities

• Keep cable production lines running smoothly during your shift.
• Make small machine adjustments to maintain performance.
• Ensure product quality meets required standards.
• Complete production sheets and monitor output, downtime and scrap.
• Carry out 5S duties and maintain a clean, organized area.
• Follow SOPs and process specs; set up and start production lines.

Manufacturing Operative Cables

Kinetic Manchester are looking for 2 Machine Minders / Manufacturing Ops / Cable Making Operatives to join a long established manufacturer in Blackley - a company with 120+ years of history and a reputation for building the infrastructure that keeps the UK moving.Shifts rotate weekly: 06:00-14:00 and 14:00-22:00 - you must be able to work both.*** A DBS Background check will be completed upon offer ***.

What You'll Be Doing as the Manufacturing / Cable Making Operative

• Keeping cable production lines running smoothly throughout your shift
• Making small machine adjustments to maintain performance
• Ensuring product quality meets required standards
• Spotting and reporting compliance issues
• Operating machinery following SOPs and process specs
• Completing production sheets (output, downtime, scrap)
• Carrying out 5S duties to keep the area organised
• Investigating process issues using data and SPC charts
• Setting up and safely starting production lines
• Completing safety checks
• Testing finished reels/drums and recording results
• Updating waste and scrap records

To be successful with this Manufacturing Operative we need you to meet the following criteria:

• Extrusion experience is a big advantage
• Able to work rotating early/late shifts consistently
• Strong practical skills and confidence with manual work
• Good communication and ability to follow instructions
• Comfortable working to routine and pace
• Health & safety awareness
• Flexible, enthusiastic, and a team player
