Job summary

Hawk 3 Talent Solutions is recruiting for a Cable Winding Operative in Knowsley, Merseyside on a permanent basis from day one. You will operate specialist machinery to wind and transfer cables between drums and ensure quality standards are met.

The role offers a rotating three-shift pattern (7:00-3:00, 3:00-11:00, 23:00-07:00) with a basic hourly rate of £12.71 plus shift premiums. Full training is provided and a supportive team environment awaits.

Qualifications

• Experience in manufacturing, production or machine operation is helpful.

• No prior cable winding experience required due to full training.

Responsibilities

• Operating and monitoring cable winding and production machinery.
• Winding and transferring electrical and fibre optic cables between drums.
• Handling cable materials and components safely and accurately.
• Supporting the manufacturing and extrusion of fibre optic cables.
• Carrying out basic quality inspections to ensure products meet specifications.
• Monitoring machinery and reporting any faults or production issues.
• Maintaining a clean, safe and organised working environment.
• Following all company health and safety procedures.

Cable Winding Operative – Permanent

Location: Knowsley, Merseyside

Salary: £12.71 per hour + Shift Allowances

Hours: Monday to Friday | Rotating Shifts

Contract: Permanent from Day One

The Role

As a Cable Winding Operative, you will play an important part in the manufacturing process, operating specialist machinery to wind and transfer cables between drums while ensuring products meet the required quality standards.

Key Responsibilities:

• Operating and monitoring cable winding and production machinery.
• Winding and transferring electrical and fibre optic cables between drums.
• Handling cable materials and components safely and accurately.
• Supporting the manufacturing and extrusion of fibre optic cables.
• Carrying out basic quality inspections to ensure products meet specifications.
• Monitoring machinery and reporting any faults or production issues.
• Maintaining a clean, safe and organised working environment.
• Following all company health and safety procedures.

What We're Looking For

• Previous experience within manufacturing, production or machine operating would be advantageous.
• Good attention to detail and a commitment to quality.

• Flexibility to work rotating shifts.
• Previous cable winding experience is not essential, as full training will be provided.

Working Hours & Pay

Monday to Friday – Rotating Three-Shift Pattern

• Morning Shift: 7:00am – 3:00pm
• Afternoon Shift: 3:00pm – 11:00pm
• Night Shift: 11:00pm – 7:00am

Basic Pay: £12.71 per hour

Additional Shift Premiums:

• Afternoon Shift: Additional £67.20 per week
• Night Shift: Additional £152.70 per week

Successful candidates will initially start on the 7:00am – 3:00pm shift before moving onto the rotating shift pattern.
