Job Description

Manufacturing Laboratory Technologist

Full Time

Location: Derby/Onsite, 5 days a week

What you will be doing

Work as part of a dedicated team supporting the production of Turbine Blade manufacturing, covering casting, machining, and coating processes. The role will be aligned with the Precision Casting Facility (PCF), Turbine Blade Facility (TBF), or Precision Machining Facility (PMF) in Derby.

Responsibilities
  • Conduct lab testing of raw materials, heat treatments, consumables, and chemicals.
  • Control and develop processes to support component manufacturing.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory and internal standards.
  • Verify engineering specifications for new and ongoing production.
  • Support testing for process improvements, zero defect initiatives, and cost reduction programs.
  • Lead investigations to resolve quality issues.

Additional Responsibilities
  • Microstructural evaluation of test samples from steel, titanium, and nickel alloys.
  • Approve process data, procedures, and manufacturing methods for domestic and external supply parts.
  • Ensure process compliance to standards through instructions and audits.
  • Support approval of manufacturing changes with Product Control Authority (PCA).
  • Participate in multifunctional teams to improve processes and resolve manufacturing issues.
