Manufacturing Inspector / CMM Programmer

Location: Andover, Hampshire

Salary: Up to £40,000 DOE + Overtime

Hours: Monday - Thursday 8am - 5pm, and Fridays 8am - 1pm

Contract: Permanent

I have been instructed to support our client who are a precision engineering manufacturer to recruit a Manufacturing Inspector / CMM Programmer. This hands‑on role is central to ensuring high‑quality components, accurate documentation, and compliance with customer and industry standards. Strong CMM programming experience is essential.

Key Responsibilities
  • Program and operate CMM equipment for detailed dimensional inspections.
  • Complete FAIRs, ISIRs and maintain accurate quality documentation.
  • Review and verify material certificates and traceability documents.
  • Carry out manual inspection using micrometers, calipers, height gauges, and other tools.
  • Identify and report non‑conformances and support problem‑solving activities.
  • Contribute to audit readiness and continuous improvement initiatives.
What You’ll Bring
  • Proven experience in a quality inspection role within engineering or manufacturing.
  • Strong CMM programming skills – this is a must‑have.
  • Ability to interpret engineering drawings, GD&T and technical specifications.
  • Knowledge of AS9100 and ISO 9001.
  • High attention to detail, good documentation skills, and confident communication.
Desirable
  • Engineering qualifications (HNC / HND / NVQ or similar).
  • Audit involvement or familiarity with customer‑specific standards (e.g., SABRe).
  • Lean / CI awareness.
