Job summary

Edwards Vacuum is seeking an Manufacturing Engineering Manager - Development to lead a high‑calibre ME team and embed manufacturability into our products from concept through industrialisation. You will champion DFx (DFM, DFA, DFT, DFS) and PFMEA/DFMEA, ensuring early risk mitigation and robust NPI deliverables.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Manufacturing, Electrical, Electronics, or Mechanical Engineering.
• Extensive hands-on ME experience in product development or NPI.
• Proficiency in DFx methodologies (DFM, DFA, DFT, DFS) and cost‑efficient design.
• Experience with PFMEA/DFMEA in structured NPI frameworks.
• Strong knowledge of electronics manufacturing processes (SMT, through-hole, testing).
• Ability to influence design and engineering teams and senior stakeholders.
• Exceptional people leadership, coaching and team development skills.
• Familiarity with SAP and standard engineering/project management tools.
• Fluent written and spoken English across multidisciplinary teams.

Responsibilities

• Mentor and develop the ME team; foster collaboration and clear communication.
• Champion DFx strategies across Design for Manufacture/Assembly/Test/Service and cost‑efficient design.
• Define and enforce PFMEA/DFMEA standards and drive risk mitigation.
• Guide manufacturing considerations in concept selection, architecture, and detailed design reviews; embed manufacturing requirements.
• Oversee prototypes and pilots; validate processes before scaling to volume production.
• Lead technical reviews, manufacturing reviews, and NPI deliverables; align with roadmaps and technology strategies.
