Job summary

MARS Recruitment seeks a Manufacturing Engineer to drive continuous improvement across ongoing projects, BAU activities and NPI work. You will review processes, identify waste, and set improvement plans with Manufacturing Team Leaders to ensure production readiness.

The role promotes a CI culture on the shop floor, delivering Lean/Six Sigma initiatives to boost yield, reliability and efficiency while collaborating with engineering, supply chain and production teams to implement changes.

Qualifications

• Experience applying Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement tools.
• Strong structured problem-solving skills.
• Knowledge of ISO 9000 quality systems.
• Experience with NPI, DfX, and product lifecycle management.
• Familiarity with ERP/MRP systems (BOMs, routings, etc.).

Responsibilities

• Provide hands-on engineering support to production, ensuring quality products are delivered on schedule.
• Analyse and improve manufacturing processes, identifying waste and driving continuous improvement.
• Lead initiatives using Lean and Six Sigma to improve yield, reliability, and efficiency.
• Monitor and improve key metrics such as product yield and returns (wRMA).
• Support New Product Introduction (NPI), ensuring products and processes are production-ready and repeatable.
• Develop and maintain work instructions, inspection criteria, and manufacturing documentation.
• Collaborate with engineering, supply chain, and production teams to resolve issues and implement improvements.
• Support supplier performance across cost, quality, and delivery.
• Contribute to shop floor layout and tooling design to support evolving product needs.
• Champion safe working practices, 5S, and operational excellence.

Our client is looking to recruit a Manufacturing Engineer to assist with ongoing manufacturing projects and BAU continuous improvement and NPI activity. The Manufacturing Engineer will review and measure current manufacturing processes, identify waste opportunities for improvement and agree improvement plans and targets with Manufacturing Team Leaders. You will promote a Continuous Improvement culture through training and coaching, acting as a CI champion delivering shop floor Lean/ six sigma programs and initiatives.

Your day to day looks like:

About You

The Manufacturing Engineer will ideally have the following skills and attributes:

• Degree/HND in Manufacturing, Electronics Engineering, or equivalent experience
• Proven experience applying Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement tools
• Strong structured problem-solving skills
• Knowledge of ISO 9000 quality systems
• Experience with NPI, DfX, and product lifecycle management
• Familiarity with ERP/MRP systems (BOMs, routings, etc.)
