• 1-3 years' experience in heavy engineering, automotive, or aerospace.
• Strong knowledge of materials and manufacturing processes.
• Experience with Airbus and/or Boeing systems.

Responsibilities

• Design and improve production systems to meet quality and cost targets.
• Support continuous improvement activities using lean techniques.
• Conduct risk assessments and analyze downtime trends.

The post holder will be responsible for supporting Manufacturing Engineering activities, in one or a combination of the following areas of responsibilities: Product design Process design Equipment/Tool design Production system design Automated systems and control Quality & continuous Improvement Responsibilities Design, improve, implement and/or maintain production systems to deliver product on time, to quality requirements and to cost Support continuous improvement activities in quality, cycle times, process improvement, machine availability through lean techniques and value engineering to enhance the capability of existing processes and remove waste Support product design for manufacture and assembly activities Support product CAM/CAE activities Support cutting tool selection/design, work holding tool design and mould design Support validation plans to ensure robust and comprehensive technical solutions Develop and maintain project plans and budget profiles to ensure delivery of milestones to agreed cost targets and timescales Identify and justify capital equipment investment Analyse and improve material usage Analyse downtime, identify trends and develop solutions in conjunction with being optimistic, a team player, resilient and open to change Ensure accuracy of manufacturing engineering procedures, documentation and systems data Attend various meetings and action/communicate instructions Produce written reports and make presentations Perform root cause analysis and resolve problems Identify business improvement opportunities within the organisation Conduct risk assessments of processes and tasks relative to the value stream or central function Support, comply and ensure complicity with Health & Safety regulations, the Company Handbook, Quality and Environmental standards, and all other Company policies and procedures Reward Competitive salary Annual bonus (linked to company performance) 33 days annual leave (Increase after 5 years' service) 37.5 hours per week Flexi time working £5,000 employee referral bonus Health cash plan Contributory Salary Sacrifice Pension Scheme Holiday Purchase Scheme - Salary Sacrifice Electric Car Scheme - Salary Sacrifice Cycle to Work Scheme Life Assurance Scheme at x4 gross salary Competitive enhanced Maternity and Paternity pay IVF & Assisted Conception Policy Women in Buisness Membership Wellbeing Initiatives Employee Recognition scheme Long Service Awards Local charity / sponsorship activities Dedicated employee parking Discounted Gym membership Learning and development opportunities Career progression Requirements Essential Minimum 1-3 years' experience in a similar environment, i.e. heavy engineering, automotive or aerospace Strong knowledge of materials and manufacturing processes Working knowledge of Airbus and or Boeing systems and processes Working knowledge of 2D and 3D CAD In depth knowledge and experience of Failure Mode and Effect Analysis (FMEA), and Lean Manufacturing techniques Experience of New Product Introduction, reworking design changes and upgrades through to production Ability to work in a diverse and dynamic environment Strong communication, analytical and problem solving skills Desirable Relevant Manufacturing/Engineering degree is preferred, or HND/ BTEC Professional Level 5 Award or equivalent NVQ Level 5 qualifications Membership of an industry related professional body Distinguished record of creativity and innovation We reserve the right to enhance criteria on shortlisting.
