Job summary

JDR Recruitment is seeking an experienced Electrician for a client in the manufacturing sector in Swansea. The role covers installation, maintenance and repair of electrical systems across wiring, switch gear, transformers and control panels, with a focus on reliability and uptime.

You will read blueprints, perform preventive maintenance, troubleshoot PLCs, program where required, and ensure compliance with NFPA 70E and local regulations.

Qualifications

• Experience installing and maintaining electrical components.
• Ability to troubleshoot electrical malfunctions and repair.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics and diagrams.
• Perform preventive maintenance to improve reliability.
• Programming and troubleshooting PLCs in manufacturing environments.
• Adherence to NFPA 70E and local electrical regulations.

Responsibilities

• Installing and maintaining electrical components such as wiring, switch gear, transformers, motors, lighting systems, and control panels.
• Troubleshooting and repairing electrical malfunctions using diagnostic tools and testing devices to minimise downtime.
• Reading and interpreting blueprints, schematics, and diagrams to plan installations and repairs.
• Performing preventive maintenance on machinery and electrical systems.
• Programming and troubleshooting PLCs and other automated control systems.
• Ensuring compliance with safety standards and electrical codes.
