Job summary

Trident Recruitment is seeking an experienced Manual Turner / Centre Lathe Turner to join a precision engineering business in Rugby. The role offers a weekend shift: Friday to Sunday, 7:00am–7:00pm, with a base rate of £20 per hour plus a 25% weekend shift allowance, equating to £25 per hour overall.

You will operate manual centre lathes, set up components from drawings, and inspect parts to tight tolerances, producing one-off and small-batch precision components while maintaining high quality

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a Manual Turner / Centre Lathe Turner.
• Experience operating Colchester lathes is preferred.
• Ability to read and work from engineering drawings.
• Good knowledge of precision measurement and tolerances.
• Experience with XYZ ProTRAK is advantageous but not essential.

Job description

Trident Recruitment is recruiting for an experienced Manual Turner / Centre Lathe Turner to join a well-established precision engineering business in Rugby.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced manual machinist looking for a weekend shift, working three 12-hour shifts from Friday to Sunday.

The Role

You will be responsible for:

• Operating manual centre lathes
• Setting and machining components from engineering drawings
• Working to tight tolerances
• Producing one-off and small-batch precision components
• Carrying out dimensional checks using standard measuring equipment
• Maintaining high standards of quality throughout the machining process

Experience Required

We are looking for candidates with:

• Strong experience as a Manual Turner / Centre Lathe Turner
• Experience operating Colchester lathes
• Ability to confidently work from engineering drawings
• Good knowledge of precision measurement and tolerances
• Experience with XYZ ProTRAK would be an advantage, but is not essential

Friday - Sunday

7:00am - 7:00pm

£20.00 per hour basic + 25% weekend shift allowance = £25.00 per hour
