Job summary

Mason James Appointments (UK) Ltd in Wirral is seeking a skilled Manual Lathe Turner to join a precision engineering business. This role suits a time-served engineer who enjoys traditional machining, varied work and being part of a small, experienced team.

You will machine from engineering drawings using Dean Smith & Grace, Colchester Mastiff and Ajax lathes, and maintain tight tolerances across multiple industries. The position offers 38 hours per week with days pattern and overtime options.

Qualifications

• Time-served engineer with experience in manual/conventional turning.
• Able to read engineering drawings with accuracy.
• Able to machine to tight tolerances and maintain quality workmanship.

Wirral | £17.50–£18.00 per hour | Days | Overtime Available

We’re recruiting a skilled Manual Lathe Turner to join a well-established precision engineering business on the Wirral.

This is a great opportunity for a time-served engineer who enjoys traditional machining, varied work and being part of a small, experienced team.

The business has an excellent reputation for looking after its people. Several engineers have been with the company for decades, and this position has become available due to retirement.

The role:

• Manual turning using Dean Smith & Grace, Colchester Mastiff and Ajax lathes
• Working from engineering drawings
• Machining components to tight tolerances
• Varied precision engineering work across multiple industries

What we’re looking for:

• Experienced Manual/Conventional Turner
• Confident reading engineering drawings
• Able to work accurately to tight tolerances
• A genuine passion for engineering and quality workmanship

Hours: 38 per week Monday–Thursday: 8:00am–4:30pm
Friday: 8:00am–2:30pm
