Job summary

Latitude Recruitment is seeking an experienced Manual Lathe Turner for their Romsey, Hampshire site. The role is a hands-on position working on conventional lathes to produce precision components to specification.

The role operates on a day shift, Monday to Friday, with an immediate start. It is a temporary position offering a UK hourly rate of £17–£20 depending on experience.

We are currently recruiting for an experienced Manual Lathe Turner to join a well-established engineering and manufacturing company based in Romsey.

This is a hands-on role suited to a skilled machinist who is confident operating conventional manual lathes and producing precision-engineered components to specification.

Key Responsibilities:

• Operating manual/conventional centre lathes.


• Manufacturing components from engineering drawings.


• Working to tight tolerances and quality standards.


• Measuring and inspecting finished parts using a range of inspection equipment.


• Maintaining a safe and organised work environment.

Requirements:

• Previous experience operating manual lathes.


• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.


• Competent using measuring equipment including micrometers and verniers.


• Strong attention to detail and quality.


• Reliable and able to work independently.
