Job summary

David Lewis is seeking an experienced Manual Handling Assessor Trainer to join our Learning & Development team and help shape safe practice across our organisation.

This hands-on role involves delivering engaging moving and handling training, assessing competency, coaching colleagues, and supporting managers to address development needs across services. Travel between sites is required to cover induction, refresher and specialist sessions, ensuring compliance and person-centred care.

Qualifications

• Holds an accredited Manual Handling Trainer qualification.
• Experience delivering moving and handling training within health, social care, education or residential settings.
• Ability to assess competency and provide constructive feedback.
• Understands person‑centred approaches and least restrictive practice.

Responsibilities

• Delivering engaging moving and handling training across the organisation
• Facilitating induction, refresher and specialist training sessions
• Assessing competency and providing practical workplace coaching
• Supporting managers to address identified development needs
• Working alongside therapists, managers and operational colleagues on complex handling requirements
• Promoting safe working practices and injury prevention
• Helping ensure we remain compliant with regulatory and best practice requirements
