Job summary

David Lewis is seeking an experienced Manual Handling Assessor Trainer to join the Learning & Development team. The role involves delivering engaging training across services, assessing competency and coaching colleagues to deliver safe, person-centered support.

You will work across multiple sites, promoting best practices in manual handling to protect staff and those we support, while maintaining regulatory compliance and safeguarding dignity and independence.

Qualifications

• Accredited Manual Handling Trainer qualification.
• Experience delivering moving and handling training within health, social care, education or residential settings.
• Able to assess competency and provide constructive feedback.
• Understands person-centered approaches and least restrictive practice.
• Experience using hoists, slings, transfer aids and specialist equipment.
• Builds positive relationships and inspires confidence in others.
• Enjoys helping people learn, develop and succeed.

Responsibilities

• Deliver engaging moving and handling training across the organisation.
• Facilitate induction, refresher and specialist training sessions.
• Assess competency and provide practical workplace coaching.
• Support managers to address identified development needs.
• Work with therapists, managers and operational colleagues on complex handling requirements.
• Promote safe working practices and injury prevention.
• Help ensure compliance with regulatory and best practice requirements.
• Play a vital role in protecting colleagues and the people we support.

Manual Handling Assessor Trainer Salary: £32,959 - £36,621 per annum Do you know your slide sheets from your sling assessments? Can you confidently demonstrate best practice while keeping a room full of learners engaged, entertained and awake after lunch? Do you believe great moving and handling practice is about more than compliance, it's about dignity, independence and keeping people safe? If the answer is yes, we'd love to hear from you. At David Lewis, we're looking for an experienced and enthusiastic Manual Handling Assessor Trainer to join our Learning & Development team and help shape safe practice across our organisation . This is a hands-on role for someone who enjoys coaching, developing and supporting colleagues. You'll be out and about across our services, helping teams build the skills, confidence and competence needed to deliver safe, person-centered support.

What will you be doing?
