Job summary

Hariley Solutions Ltd is recruiting an experienced Manual / Conventional Machinist to join its engineering team on a permanent basis. You will set and operate manual lathes, read engineering drawings and ensure components meet tight tolerances.

The role requires XYZ Lathe experience, familiarity with precision measuring tools like verniers and micrometers, and a reliable, hardworking attitude. Hours are 7:00am to 5:00pm with pay £15.00–£15.50 per hour rising after three months.

Qualifications

• Previous experience as Manual Machinist, Conventional Machinist or Lathe Machinist.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
• Experience using precision measuring equipment.
• Good understanding of machining tolerances.

Responsibilities

• Set and operate manual/conventional lathes.

Pay: £15.00 per hour, increasing to £15.50 per hour after 3 months
Hours: 7:00am - 5:00pm
Contract: Permanent

The Role

We are currently recruiting for an experienced Manual / Conventional Machinist to join a well-established engineering and manufacturing company on a permanent basis.

The successful candidate will ideally have previous experience working with XYZ Lathes and be confident producing components accurately from engineering drawings.

Key Responsibilities

• Set and operate manual/conventional lathes
• Operate XYZ Lathe machinery
• Machine components to required specifications and tolerances
• Read and interpret engineering drawings
• Use precision measuring equipment including verniers and micrometers
• Carry out quality checks on completed components
• Make adjustments to tooling and machinery when required
• Ensure all work is completed to the required quality standards
• Maintain a clean and safe working environment

About You

The ideal candidate will have:

• Previous experience as a Manual Machinist, Conventional Machinist, Turner or Lathe Machinist
• XYZ Lathe experience would be highly advantageous
• Good knowledge of manual turning and machining processes
• Ability to read and understand engineering drawings
• Experience using precision measuring equipment
• Good understanding of machining tolerances
• A reliable and hardworking approach
