Job summary

Proslipsi Recruitment Specialist in Rochdale is seeking a skilled Manual Turner to join our engineering team. You will set up and operate manual turning machines and centre lathes to manufacture components to engineering drawings and specifications.

You will read drawings, select tooling, measure parts with micrometres and gauges, perform turning, facing, boring, and threading, and help maintain equipment. Training and a pension are provided, along with overtime and a short Friday-off schedule.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a Manual Turner within a precision engineering or manufacturing environment.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
• Strong understanding of machining techniques and processes.
• Competent in the use of precision measuring instruments.
• Ability to work independently and produce high-quality work with minimal supervision.
• Good problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Knowledge of health and safety procedures within a workshop environment.
• Engineering apprenticeship or relevant machining qualification.
• Experience machining a variety of materials.

Responsibilities

• Identify and report machine faults or production issues.

The Job

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Manual Turner to join our engineering and manufacturing team. The successful candidate will be responsible for setting up and operating conventional centre lathes to manufacture precision components to engineering drawings and specifications.
