Time Recruitment Solutions Limited, Manchester, is representing a thriving construction contractor seeking a Managing Quantity Surveyor to join their team and drive commercial performance.

Reporting to the Commercial Manager and Directors, you will lead profitability, oversee pre-construction and live projects across Manchester, Liverpool and Leeds, and mentor junior surveyors while shaping the commercial strategy.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a Senior Quantity Surveyor, Managing Quantity Surveyor or Commercial Lead within the construction industry
• Strong knowledge of JCT contracts and commercial management principles
• Experience managing multiple projects simultaneously
• Excellent leadership and mentoring abilities
• Strong client-facing and stakeholder management skills
• Commercially driven with the ability to influence business performance
• Full UK Driving Licence

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement commercial strategies to maximise project profitability
• Identify and manage commercial risks and opportunities
• Ensure projects are delivered within budgets and target margins
• Oversee valuations, variations, cost reporting and final accounts
• Drive commercial performance across multiple projects
• Lead the commercial elements of new project opportunities
• Oversee estimates, cost planning and tender submissions
• Develop procurement strategies
• Support contract negotiations and project acquisition
• Contribute to the business's ongoing growth strategy
• Mentor and support Quantity Surveyors and junior commercial staff
• Provide guidance on commercial best practice
• Promote consistent reporting and commercial processes
• Assist in developing a high-performing commercial team
• Build and maintain strong relationships with key clients
• Manage relationships with subcontractors, consultants and supply chain partners
• Work closely with Directors on commercial reporting and business planning
• Act as a senior commercial representative for the business
