We're looking for a Managing Quantity Surveyor to join our Natural Resources team, within a commutable distance to Falmer. In this role, you'll provide commercial support on the mobilisation and ongoing operations of our new 7-year, c£1bn framework with Southern Water.

Location: Chatham or Falmer, East Sussex, up to 3 days a week

Contract: Permanent, Full Time – flexible and part-time hours may be available if desired, just let us know

Responsibilities

We're seeking a Managing Quantity Surveyor who will provide commercial support to project teams, maintain commercial information, and ensure contractual compliance. The role involves liaising with customer representatives and third parties on commercial issues, including variations, claims, and additional payments.

Your Day-to-Day Will Include

• Working closely with the Senior Leadership Team to advise on commercial strategy for opportunity conversion and profitability.
• Advising on commercial implications of bids and delivery strategies, ensuring visibility on risks and rewards.
• Implementing risk management and mitigation strategies to achieve commercial targets.
• Managing a team of commercial staff, identifying talent, training needs, and resource allocation, including recruitment and development.
• Upholding Kier Culture and principles, acting as an ambassador for the NRNN business.

What Are We Looking For?

This role is ideal if you have:

• A relevant Degree or equivalent in Quantity Surveying.
• Extensive experience in a senior commercial role within a Tier 1 main contracting environment, managing large teams, preferably in the Water sector or regulated utilities.
• Strong understanding of NEC contracts and current Construction Law.
• Experience in commercial management and procurement of subcontractors, including meetings, measurement, certificates, and accruals.
• A proven track record in commercial reporting, accurately outlining business position, risks, and opportunities.
