Job description

We're looking for a Managing Quantity Surveyor to join our project team based in Loughton, Essex.

Location: Loughton, Essex

Contract: Permanent, Full-Time

What will you be responsible for?

As a Managing Quantity Surveyor, you'll work within the project team, supporting them in delivering a multi-million-pound scheme.

Your day-to-day responsibilities will include:

1. Ensuring works are valued, including any variations, in accordance with the contract and analyses to determine the project's true value.
2. Ensuring main contracts have appropriate terms and conditions, with commercial risks identified.
3. Engaging the supply chain appropriately with correct contract terms and conditions.
4. Fostering good client relationships.
5. Managing subcontract letting, negotiation, and financial accounting.

What are we looking for?

This role is ideal if you have:

• HND/degree in Quantity Surveying or equivalent, familiarity with ICE/NEC forms of contract, and knowledge of current construction law.
• Experience in commercial management and procurement of subcontractors, including chairing meetings, measurement, control cycles, certificates, and accruals calculations.
• Good knowledge of monthly reporting and earned value analysis.
• Excellent time management skills, with the ability to meet tight deadlines.
• Ability to support and encourage junior members of the Commercial Team.

Desirable

• Member of RICS or other relevant professional body, or working towards it.
• CSCS card.
