Job description

Kier Group are looking for a Managing Quantity Surveyor to join Kier Mechanical & Electrical (KME) which is our internal MEP Self Delivery business.

Kier Mechanical & Electrical support our internal build teams across the UK and have full design, construct and commissioning capability with our core sectors including Defence, Health/Science, Custodial, Commercial and Education.

Location: Basingstoke, Hampshire or London.

Contract: Full Time, Permanent. Ask us about other flexible options.

What will you be responsible for?

As a Managing Quantity Surveyor you will take ownership for managing the commercial resources across your assigned projects, looking to maximise planned gross margin.

What will your days look like?

• Supporting preconstruction activities across a framework of projects.
• Engaging with stakeholders across multiple projects to bring consistency of approach to all projects.
• Provide a core team approach so all projects benefit from lessons learnt and evolve practises to suit from lessons learnt.
• Manage valuations, cashflows, turnover forecasts, risk and margin management.
• Advise wider commercial team on framework practises.

What are we looking for?

In a Managing Quantity Surveyor, we're ideally looking for:

• Experience in managing and reporting a portfolio of projects.
• Experience with projects in the Defence sector would be advantageous but not essential.
• Experience of projects with MEP values over 20 Million.
• Experienced in preconstruction activities.
