JOB TITLE: Managing Director, Transaction Banking Solutions – Specialist Sales

LOCATION: London

HOURS: Full Time

WORKING PATTERN: Our work style is hybrid, involving at least 3 days per week or 60% of your time in the office.

About this opportunity

We’re seeking a Managing Director to lead our Transaction Banking Solutions Specialist Sales team. This team is responsible for driving revenue and providing subject matter expertise across our specialist Transaction Banking products.

As Managing Director, you’ll assume overall responsibility for leading specialist product sales across all Transaction Banking Solutions products, driving strategic direction, optimizing resources, and ensuring the delivery of high-quality new business opportunities with high complexity and size.

Our Specialist Sales team includes ECA, Commodity Trade Finance, Asset and Invoice Finance, Distribution, Commercial Cards, Data, and Merchant Acquiring.

Your accountabilities will include:
  • Achieving revenue by working with the Transaction Banking Solutions Corporate and Institutional Sales teams across the specialist product needs.
  • Developing and driving the delivery of a market-leading, joined-up sales strategy across the portfolio.
  • Leading a high-performing, specialist team, developing colleagues through stretching performance objectives, feedback, and coaching. Engaging with internal stakeholders and related product partners to deliver against strategy and maximize opportunities.
  • Ensuring adherence to group policy and regulatory requirements to protect customers and the Group, while identifying, monitoring, and mitigating commercial risks.
  • Building relationships with C-suite Senior Client Executives.
  • Proactively building and maintaining an external and internal network to support business delivery.
  • Spotting opportunities for and leading change to improve customer and commercial outcomes.
  • Overseeing the accurate and timely completion of the sales pipeline and revenue analysis processes, in accordance with defined and agreed goals and objectives.
  • Acting as a senior source of professional expertise to shape and deliver marketing plans and engagements at industry events and webinars.
  • Targeting prospective customers to develop new relationships and win new business, as well as maintaining close opportunities with existing clients to ensure trust and loyalty.

What we need from you?

  • Extensive experience in a Sales environment with in-depth knowledge of Transaction Banking products.
  • A proven track record of successfully developing and delivering new business opportunities.
  • Excellent knowledge of the customer base and competitive environment, providing client and market feedback for product development and solution delivery.
  • Strong understanding of credit and risk management.
  • Experience managing strategic client relationships, typically using large account teams to ensure satisfaction and loyalty.
  • Significant experience engaging with senior business leaders and developing strategic solutions for long-term needs.
  • Ability to recognize opportunities across complex products, implement strategic solutions, and collaborate with sales colleagues for optimal outcomes.
  • Capability to share, embed, and promote standard methodologies across the Group.
  • Good people management skills, self-motivation, and influence, with representation at industry and professional events.
