Senior Generative AI Engineer (C grade)

Role Overview:

KPMG UK seeks a Senior GenAI Engineer to join our Data & AI team. You will contribute to the development and deployment of generative AI models, support client project delivery, and work collaboratively on impactful AI solutions. You will design AI systems, manage teams, and ensure effective AI model integration into client environments, adhering to data governance and security standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. AI Solution Development:
    • Design, develop, and implement generative AI models to solve client business challenges.
    • Collaborate with senior AI engineers and data scientists to align solutions with business goals.
    • Create Proof of Concepts (PoCs), Minimal Viable Products (MVPs), and full AI projects to drive impact.
  2. Client Project Delivery & Team Management:
    • Support AI solution delivery, ensuring successful and timely outcomes.
    • Manage and mentor AI engineers and data scientists throughout projects.
    • Work with cross-functional teams to gather requirements and ensure seamless AI model implementation.
  3. Coding & Implementation:
    • Develop and optimize high-quality generative AI models meeting production standards.
    • Utilize tools like TensorFlow, PyTorch, Databricks, and Snowflake for deployment in cloud environments.
    • Ensure AI model integration into existing systems, managing version control and CI/CD processes.
  4. Data Management & Integration:
    • Collaborate with data engineering teams for data flow, integration, and management.
    • Ensure AI models are integrated into data pipelines with attention to data quality and consistency.
    • Follow best practices for data governance, security, and privacy, especially with sensitive data.
  5. Business Development & Practice Building:
    • Identify opportunities for AI solutions, supporting feasibility studies and data strategies.
    • Contribute to RFP responses, proposals, and client demos, showcasing AI value.
    • Innovate to help grow KPMG's AI practice and capabilities.
  6. Ethical and Secure AI deployment
    • Ensure AI models and data processing comply with governance policies and regulations.
    • Implement best practices in data privacy, security, and ethical AI, especially with sensitive data.
    • Develop guidelines for secure data handling in AI projects.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Educational Background:
    • Degree in Computer Science, Statistics, or related fields preferred, but not mandatory.
    • Equivalent professional experience considered.
    • Advanced certifications or coursework in AI/ML are a plus.
  • Work Experience:
    • 5+ years in AI/ML, focusing on generative AI solutions.
    • Experience with Large Language Models like GPT, BERT, etc.
    • Proficiency with frameworks like TensorFlow, PyTorch, and cloud platforms such as Databricks and Snowflake.
  • Skills:
    • Design and code generative AI models, including prompt engineering for LLMs.
    • Strong understanding of AI/ML algorithms, optimization, and deployment in cloud environments.
    • Experience with version control, Docker, and data engineering tools.
    • Excellent collaboration, leadership, and communication skills, with mentoring experience.
