Interested in data and information? Want to help improve services for children and young people?
We're looking for a Management Information Assistant to join our Children's Services Business Intelligence and Performance Team.
This is a varied role supporting the production of management information, statutory reporting, data quality activities and systems support across Children's Services. You'll work with a range of datasets and systems, helping to ensure information is accurate, reliable and available when it's needed. You'll also work with colleagues and partners across Children's Services to help ensure information is understood, maintained and used effectively.
Whether producing reports, maintaining data quality, responding to information requests or supporting improvements to reporting processes, you'll play an important role in ensuring Children's Services has trusted information to support operational delivery and statutory responsibilities.
Behind every statutory return, performance report, dashboard and inspection dataset is a need for accurate, reliable information. The work of the Business Intelligence and Performance Team helps ensure Children's Services understands what is happening, where support is needed and how services are performing.
This role sits at the heart of that process. You'll help maintain the quality of key datasets, support statutory reporting, respond to information requests and contribute to the management information and reporting that services depend on. You'll work with a wide range of Children's Services information, helping to ensure data is accurate, reliable and available when it's needed.
This role is more than producing reports. We are looking for someone who is curious, proactive and motivated to improve how work gets done. Alongside supporting core information and reporting activities, you'll take ownership of a range of management information processes, identifying opportunities to streamline activities, reduce manual effort and improve the way information is collected, managed and shared across Children's Services.
We're looking for someone who enjoys questioning existing ways of working and finding better solutions. You'll be encouraged to explore and apply new technologies and automation tools, including Microsoft Power BI, Power Apps and Power Automate, helping the team become more efficient, resilient and insight focused.
As part of a culture of continuous improvement, you'll help move routine processes away from manual administration and towards smarter, more sustainable ways of working, enabling colleagues to spend more time providing analysis, insight and support to services.
By helping colleagues access information they can trust, you'll contribute to better decisions, stronger services and improved outcomes for children, young people and families across Dorset.
