Job summary

East London NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a Management Accountant to join the Finance Team in London. The role provides financial management support to the North East London portfolio, reporting to the Finance Manager, with responsibilities across budgeting, month-end, and financial analysis.

You will deliver timely financial information to budget holders and senior managers, contribute to cost improvement programmes, and help drive financial sustainability within the Going Forward Going

Qualifications

• Finance experience in a large NHS or public sector setting.
• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to interpret complex financial information and present it clearly.
• Excellent communication with non-finance stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive financial management support to allocated services and Directorates.
• Produce timely, accurate, and insightful monthly financial reports, forecasts, and budget monitoring information.
• Support budget holders in the effective management of their budgets through regular financial review meetings and professional advice.
• Analyse financial performance, identifying variances, trends, risks, and opportunities, and recommend appropriate corrective actions where required.
• Develop strong working relationships with operational and clinical managers to support informed decision-making and financial accountability.
• Assist in the preparation of annual budgets, financial plans, and forecasting processes.
• Support the delivery of cost improvement and efficiency programmes, including identifying opportunities to enhance financial performance.
• Ensure compliance with Trust financial procedures, policies, and governance requirements.
• Contribute to the continuous improvement of financial systems, reporting processes, and service delivery.
• Work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders, providing high-quality financial information and analysis to support strategic and operational objectives.
